چکیده

The evaluation of the hadronic contribution to the muon magnetic anomaly aμ is revisited, taking advantage of new experimental data on ee annihilation into hadrons: SND and CMD-2 for the ππ channel, and BABAR for multihadron final states. Discrepancies are observed between KLOE and CMD-2/SND data, preventing one from averaging all the ee results. The long-standing disagreement between spectral functions obtained from τ decays and ee annihilation is still present, and not accounted by isospin-breaking corrections, for which new estimates have been presented. The updated Standard Model value for aμ based on e + e − annihilation data is now reaching a precision better than experiment, and it disagrees with the direct measurement from BNL at the 3.3σ level, while the τ -based estimate is in much better agreement. The τ/ee discrepancy, best revealed when comparing the measured branching fraction for τ− → ππντ to its prediction from the isospin-breaking-corrected

Ope Constraints and the Leading Order Hadronic Contribution to (g − 2) Μ

OPE constraints are studied as a means of distinguishing between the versions of the I = 1 vector spectral function extracted from (i) inclusive I = 1 hadronic electroproduction cross-sections and (ii) inclusive I = 1 hadronic τ decay data, with the goal of clarifying expectations for the leading order hadronic contribution to aµ = (g − 2)µ/2 in the Standard Model. The constraints are shown to,...

A Note on W Boson Production at HERA ∗

We discuss W boson production at HERA including NLO QCD corrections. The production of W bosons at ep colliders is mediated by photon, Z and W exchange between the electron/positron and the hadronic part of the process [1]. In practice, it is convenient to distinguish two regions, a small Q 2 one (photoproduction region), that can be treated using the Weizsäcker-Williams photon spectrum convolu...

The Hadronic Light-by-Light Contribution to the Muon Anomalous Magnetic Moment: Where Do We Stand?

We review the status of the hadronic light-by-light contribution to the muon anomalous magnetic moment and critically compare recent calculations. We also study in detail which momentum regions the π 0 exchange main contribution originates. We also argue that a light−by−light µ

Vector and Axial - Vector Current Correlators within the Instanton Model of Qcd Vacuum

The pion electric polarizability, α E π ± , the leading order hadronic contribution to the muon anomalous magnetic moment, a hvp(1) µ , and the ratio of the difference to the sum of vector and axial-vector correlators, (V − A)/(V + A), are found within the instanton model of QCD vacuum. The results are compared with phenomenological estimates of these quantities following from the ALEPH and OPA...

EVALUATION OF α(M2 Z) AND (g − 2)µ

This talk summarizes the recent development in the evaluation of the leading order hadronic contributions to the running of the QED fine structure constant α(s), at s = M 2 Z , and to the anomalous magnetic moments of the muon (g − 2)µ. The accuracy of the theoretical prediction of these observables is limited by the uncertainties on the hadronic contributions. Significant improvement has been ...

Estimate of the Three-Loop MS Contribution to

The three-loop contribution to the M S single-Higgs-doublet standard-model cross-section σ(W + L W − L → ZLZL) at s = (5MH) 2 is estimated via least-squares matching of the asymptotic Padé-approximant prediction of the next order term, a procedure that has been previously applied to QCD corrections to correlation functions and decay amplitudes. In contrast to these prior applications, the expan...
